People coming off the Manhattan Bridge into Brooklyn.
Makeshift signs pointed them to emergency clinics or places to rest. Along Flatbush Ave. for many blocks there were people giving out cups of water. Office water coolers had been dragged out onto the sidewalks. Everyone wanted to know how they could get home.
