From the air (5)

Over Brooklyn and Queens.
The last shot is by F. Breathe deeply! See also 2004.12.26, 2003.09.16, 2003.02.14, 2001.10.17.

Update: Pete says the monoliths in the third picture are the Parkchester complex, which means I was over the Bronx too.

Nice shots -- love that smog! I'm always curious how people get around prohibitions against the use of electronic devices after takeoff and before landing to get shots like this. I suppose a disposable film camera would be fine...

I never realized that projects were build with some sort of harmony in mind. They actually look pretty from up there.

I'm glad you got a shot of Bronx' Parkchester condos (3rd picture down). That is such an awesome sight from the air ~ a mysterious mass of brown buildings

John: How to get around the prohibitions? Ignore them, and have a small camera.
Pete: Thanks for the tip -- I was wondering what that was.

Parkchester isn't projects ... it's Stuyvesant Town in the Bronx, built by the same company (Met Life) They are condos now.
